Getting Away // Our First Camping Trip

I've made multiple lists of my favorite things. The one thing that always ends up on that list? Travel. Getting away from routine and experiencing something new gets me every time. It doesn't have to require getting on an airplane or driving 3 hours in a car listening to a collection of audiobooks only I could love, just get me out the door and don't let me forget my camera.

So when my husband suggested we go camping over Labor Day weekend, I couldn't have been happier. One cooler and tent-meant-for-3-but-it-actually-only-holds-2 later, we're ready to survive in the great outdoors.

We opted for Broken Bow State Park in Oklahoma since it has a gorgeous lake and plenty of hiking trails. At our first potential camping site, we could have easily heard the conversations of everyone around us and their dog. So we found a "primitive" site atop a hill, and right on the water. Minus the severe thunderstorm that night, the weather treated us well and we got to hike down and then back up a mountain, twice.

But if you know us, you know we literally can't go anywhere without our cameras. Here are a few of my favorite shots from our first camping trip together. And if stills are not your thing...you're in luck because my husband made a video of our camping trip. :)

I wanna know, what were you up to this weekend?
